Peldonna Textile Artistry

I grew up amid the rhythmic thumping of the loom and swift artistry of my elders working with the yarns at home. As a child, I often helped my mother with brushing wool, spinning yarn, and preparing the warps. Whenever she stepped away, I would slip into the loom to give it a try, fascinated by how each beat of the reed transformed threads into fabric. Over time, this deep connection to textiles grew stronger. I began to believe that each colour had its own scent and texture. Watching my mother weave felt almost magical.

Creative experiences

I am a self-taught designer who began my journey with a year-long tailoring and design course under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. That training laid the foundation for my creative path. Since then, I’ve continued to learn through short courses both within Bhutan and abroad. I started by making garments mainly for myself and my children, along with small, handcrafted items for gifts.

Fashion Vision BFW 2025

My collection for Bhutan Fashion Week 2025 is a heartfelt tribute to His Majesty’s visionary project- the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC). It is my humble endeavour of paying respect, offering gratitude and dedication to this national project. Through meaningful design elements, I hope to express my deep admiration and support for this transformative vision. The collection embodies harmony, respect for tradition, and a hopeful path forward in mindful innovation.
